Businessman Gassan Azan was among three former past students inducted into the Munro College Old Boys Association Hall Of Fame on Sunday.

Dentist Dr Brian Morgan and the late Trevor Parchment, a former student athlete and sports administrator at the school, were also inducted at the ceremony which was held at the Caymanas Golf and Country Club.

In their acceptance speeches, Azan and Morgan both shared that their parents sent them to board at Munro to quell their mischievous behaviours as boys, and recalled being caned by housemasters at the institution.

However, they praised Munro for being a major contributor to their development as they said the lessons learnt at the school guided their philosophy on life.

Azan said, “I think it is good to say that Munro has definitely laid the groundwork, in a number of ways, for my personal development.

“The clean shoes, clean nails, your personal appearance, these are things that somehow, I am not sure are taken that serious in Jamaica today. I want to say that Munro has instilled in all of us who have gone there, some of the best traits,” Azan said.

Morgan said, “I am deeply humbled and moved to be the recipient of this honour. At Munro, I would say I had a wonderful time”

Jackie Parchment accepted the award for her late father.
