The body of former Prime Minister, Edward Seaga, arrived in Kingston late on Sunday afternoon to a top-level reception from state officials, including Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Opposition Leader, Dr Peter Phillips, along with a colourful military parade, at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA).

Seaga, Jamaica's fifth prime minister, died last week at age 89 in a hospital in the United States after an extended battle with illness.

He is to be accorded a state funeral at a date to be announced, which is to be preceded by a period of official mourning.
