The driver of this classic Chevrolet turned heads as he rolled along South Camp Road in Kingston on Friday.
Blasting the music of southern US rapper Ludacris, the driver brought back memories of how blacks drove around in the deep American south in the 1960s. During that era, African Americans were very much into their vehicles and took pride in setting them up to look fancy.
Even in later years, blacks revisited the style and added white wall tyres, fancy rims and extra souped up suspensions that had the vintage vehicles bouncing at stoplights. They would also install heavy sound systems as their music blared.
On Friday, in Kingston, it was smooth sailing for the motorist who seemed to be very aware that he was all the rage with his vintage automobile. He was truly rolling deep. The moment was captured in a photograph by Trend Media's Chamal Bethel.
