Persons of interest being sought in relation to Hanover double murder

The Hanover police are seeking two persons of interest for questioning in connection with the murders of two male members of a Hanover family who were shot and killed by unknown assailants in their community on Wednesday morning.

The dead men, both of Cold Spring in the parish, have been identified as 53-year-old shopkeeper Kenneth Heman and his 52-year-old nephew, Frank Birch, a mason.

Reports are that about 2:00 a.m., Heman and his nephew were heading home when they were pounced upon and shot by gunmen.

It is understood that Heman had gone to home his nephew after learning that the latter was drunk and had gotten into a dispute with a group of men.

Upon the arrival of the police, who were summoned to the crime scene, the two victims were found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

They were transported to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
