Orpheus beats Perfect Neighbour to win King's Plate

ORPHEUS confirmed his class on Wednesday, beating PERFECT NEIGHBOUR by a length and three-quarter in the 1500-metre King's Plate at Caymanas Park.

ORPHEUS and ANOTHER BULLET tracked the leaders to the home turn. Asked to kick by jockey Shane Ellis, 4-5 favourite ORPHEUS pulled off from ANOTHER BULLET entering the straight.

The five-year-old horse clocked 1:32.0 for the distance, his first victory in open allowance.

The day's longshot was DETERMINE KING, who landed the seventh race at odds of 14-1.

Racing continues at Caymanas Park on Saturday.
