The National Water Commission (NWC) has acquired over 50 new motor vehicles to boost the mobility and responsiveness of its operational network and replace some of its aging units that are still in service.
The new acquisition includes 50 full-panel vans and five half-panel vans, which are to be distributed island-wide, including for the commission’s ongoing Kingston and St Andrew (KSA) Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Reduction Programme.
The vehicle purchase is also geared at reducing motor vehicle maintenance expenses and operational costs within the NWC, which has a fleet of approximately 450 vehicles.
The new vehicles are now being outfitted for deployment across the commission’s network.
