NWA advises of more Hagley Park Road delays to come

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists to brace for additional delays along Hagley Park Road in St Andrew, which is being widened into a four-lane corridor to help ease traffic congestion within the Corporate Area.

According to the NWA, the delays will result from additional traffic changes and restrictions on the roadway as the pace of the work has intensified.

It is encouraging motorists to use alternative routes.

Communication Manager at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, said extensive pipe-laying works, including sewer and water pipe installation and drainage improvement, are now being carried out at various points along the corridor.

He explained that the agency has had to either close or reduce to single-lane traffic, sections of the road to facilitate the ongoing works.

The NWA said activities are currently concentrated along the section of Hagley Park Road between the ATL Automotive dealership at Grayden Avenue and the NWA’s regional office in the vicinity of Ambrook Lane. As such, only one lane of traffic is being accommodated travelling from Adlington Avenue towards the Eastwood Park Road intersection.

The NWA is reminding motorists that as work progresses on the Hagley Park Road improvement project, they should plan for additional traffic changes and restrictions from time to time.
