"In the case of Hanover, I am pleased to tell you that though we have challenges with units and we do have to wrestle with the breakdown of units because of mechanical defects, we are doing well in Hanover," Gordon said.

He addressing stakeholders during a meeting at the Hanover Municipal Corporation on Wednesday, following a tour of Lucea, where he met with members of the municipal corporation and personnel from the Social Development Commission.

Gordon's visit was, among other things, part of the NSWMA’s community outreach initiative to familiarise itself with members of the business community and other community members.

Mayor of Lucea, Sheridan Samuels, said the Hanover Municipal Corporation is comfortable with the efforts of the NSWMA in the parish, adding that the corporation understood the challenges that are being faced by the authority.

"We are comfortable with the work relationship with… the NSWMA. If the issue of trucks breaking down comes up to the forefront, we will ask questions and advise them of the areas we have concerns," Samuels stated.
