Newly listed FosRich led gains during Thursday's trading
The newly listed FosRich led gains on Thursday’s trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
But there was a whopping $1.6 billion trade in Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL), which led declines on the day. SVL declined 11 per cent to close at $9.35 with 168.7 million units trading.
Fosrich gained 49 per cent to close at $2.99 with 16,000 units trading. Gwest Corporation Limited also newly listed increased 14.8 per cent to close at $2.87. Pulse gained 14 per cent to close at $1.78. While Main Event gained 13 per cent to close at $6.00.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 1,373.03 points (0.48 per cent) to close at 285,395.58. The JSE Index declined by 1,940.29 points (0.69 per cent) to close at 277,858.36. The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 2,129.59 points (0.69 per cent) to close at 304,965.84. The JSE Select Index declined by 71.53 points (0.86 per cent) to close at 8,260.08.
The Junior Market Index advanced by 36.88 points (1.36 per cent) to close at 2,740.63. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.24 points (1.31 per cent) to close at 169.22.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 40 stocks of which 17 advanced, 19 declined and 4 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 173,114,970 units valued at over $1.67 billion. Supreme Ventures Limited was the volume leader with 168,705,372 units (97.45 per cent) followed by JMMB Group Limited with 1,905,342 units (1.10 per cent) and General Accident Insurance Company (JA) Limited with 500,000 units (0.29 per cent) .
