NCB customers will no longer be able to conduct in-branch cash transactions at the company’s Chapelton location in Clarendon, effective Monday July 16.

An expanded fleet of three ABMs, including two intelligent ABMs will facilitate cash transactions at the branch, NCB said in a release on Friday.

NCB said it has put systems in place to assist customers as it migrates cash transactions to self-service intelligent ABMs, in a bid to promote its Bank on the Go Self Service.

“Our lobby officers are available to assist customers that may require assistance in using our self-service intelligent ABMs and kiosks.  Customers also have the option of visiting the May Pen branch, which continues to offer the full range of banking services, or any other branch of their choice,” NCB said.

As for business deposits, the bank said that transaction will be accommodated by its trusted courier partners.  All other branch services previously available will continue.

NCB is undergoing a strategic transformation, designed to ensure that the company remains a viable entity within the context of global disruption of the banking sector.

“Digital technology, changing consumer demands, increasing non-traditional alternatives to banks,  increased regulatory and capital requirements and changing economics are just a few of the factors driving banks to change,” NCB said.

As part of this broader strategic transformation, the bank has upgraded and modernised branches with new digital solutions to reduce wait times and enhance the overall customer experience and tailored  branch formats based on the needs of its customer segments, market dynamics, and to enhance operating efficiency.

Its Fairview, Portmore, Mandeville and Black River branches have already seen changes in branch format.
