The St Ann police are reporting that a man died in a motor vehicle crash on the Llandovery main road in the parish on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Robert Wisdom, a musician of Runaway Bay, St Ann.

Reports are that at about 4:00 a.m., Wisdom was driving a Daihatsu motorcar when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle and collided into another car.

He was taken to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It is not clear if the driver of the other vehicle that was involved in the collision sustained any injury.

Meanwhile, the news of Wisdom's death has sent shockwaves across the garden parish. This was evident through the messages of reflection about the musician's life that were posted on social media site, Facebook.

Among the post, one person wrote: "OMG... this is oh so sad. Mi caan believe Robert, aka Captain Wisdom, leave us so soon!! I really miss his jovial, infectious personality. My sincerest condolences to his immediate family, (the) musical fraternity, friends and co-workers.  Rest in paradise, brother!"

"May your soul rest in peace and I pray you die in the Lord. Mankind is nothing. Haven't seen you for a while, and now it's all over my Facebook page. RIP," a male social media user commented.

He also reflected on the uncertainty of life by adding that, "When I look around me, the only hope I see is in the man Christ Jesus. We are here today, and tomorrow we are gone. So we just have to live for the Lord. Pray the spirit of the Lord comforts his family."

Statistics from the Road Safety Unit (RSU) in the Ministry of Transport revealed that for St Ann, 34 people died in 31 crashes last year, in comparison to 25 deaths in 2017.

So far this year there have been two fatal crashes - one on Thursday, January 3 and the other on Tuesday of this week - in the parish.

In the first incident, 23-year-old Jerome Hall, otherwise called 'Putus,' a mechanic of Keith district in Brown’s Town, died as a result of a motor vehicle collision on the Discovery Bay main road.

Police reports are that at about 3:30 p.m., Hall was driving a Yamaha 600 motorcycle towards Ocho Rios, when he collided with a Toyota Corolla motorcar.

Both drivers sustained multiple injuries and were taken to hospital, where Hall was pronounced dead, while the driver of the Toyota Corolla was admitted for treatment.
