Munro College student believed to have drowned in the Black River

A 13-year-old boy who is a student of Munro College in St Elizabeth, is believed to have died by drowning in the Black River in the parish on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Carlton Sylvester of New Holland district in the parish.

Reports are that shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, the youngster and two other children went to bathe in the river.

In the process, Sylvester reportedly got into difficulties and drowned.

His body was recovered by residents who dived into the water to locate and pull him ashore.

The police are investigating the incident.
