The St James police are investigating the circumstances in which a mother and daughter were killed in Cambridge, near Montego Bay in St James late on Saturday evening.
Reports are that about 9:45 p.m., shots were heard in the Cambridge area, and upon the arrival of the police, 44-year-old Annmarie Johnson and her daughter, 24-year-old Shantoy McKenzie, were found unconscious on – of all places - Mother Lane in the community.
Both women had what appeared to be gunshot wounds, and were taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
This double murder is the latest of a long list of heinous killings that have rocked St James over recent years, as criminals reportedly continue to fight mainly for turf and the spin-offs from the lottery scam.
