Wealth management firm MoneyMasters Limited has announced the introduction of the MoneyMasters Limited Equity Fund.

This follows the launch of two others, the MoneyBuilder and MoneyMasters Growth funds last September

Consisting of carefully selected domestic and international equities, the MoneyMasters Limited Equity Fund aims to achieve aggressive capital growth while offering investors the opportunity to diversify their portfolio, MoneyMasters said in a release on Monday.

As a multi-currency fund, investors will benefit from enhanced capital appreciation in their choice of currency, whether Jamaican or US dollar.

The company also announced a special, week-long introductory rate for the fund. Beginning Monday, September 16, investors can purchase units for as little as $1.00 each with a minimum investment of only $1,000.

“At MML we stand behind our value proposition of being your wealth management experts. The equity fund is also perfect for investors who want aggressive growth but don’t have the time to manage their account. This is one of the reasons why we have handcrafted a team of experts to guide our investors through the process of growth from excellent stock selection,” said Claudette Crooks, President of MoneyMasters Limited.

Heading up the carefully selected committee is Michael McNaughton.

“Money Masters Limited has established the MML Stock Fund based on global best practices with an independent Investment Committee including myself, Dr Patrick Thelwell and Miss Dayna Bishop, McNaughton said.

McNaughton boasts over 30 years in investments, analysis, business development and information services while Bishop, an actuary and corporate strategist has worked with GraceKennedy, NCB Capital Markets, and Merrill Lynch.

New MoneyMasters chairman named

The MML Stock fund comes at an integral time for Money Masters as they have also announced a new company chairman, Dr Patrick Thelwell.

Thelwell brings over 30 years of experience in the industry to the table and is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter holder with the CFA Institute.

“This is an exciting time for us! We are thrilled with the addition of Dr Thelwell and the launch of our third fund, the equity fund,” said Crooks.

Commenting on his appointment, Thelwell said, “I could not be happier about joining the MoneyMasters team and look forward to steering the success of our newest equity fund, of which I am a member. This fund will provide a much-needed source of funding for the growth of small and medium enterprise in Jamaica by providing capital for companies that want to expand, and seek the funding through Initial Public Offering (IPOs).”
