The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona campus will host more than 500 students from the four campuses, Mona (Jamaica), St. Augustine (Trinidad) Cave Hill (Barbados) and the Open Campus, at the region’s largest multi-sporting event – the UWI Games 2019.
The 31st staging of the biennial UWI Games will be hosted from May 22-June 1 at the UWI Mona Bowl. The four UWI campuses will compete for the coveted championship in 10 sporting disciplines held over 10 days.
The sporting disciplines to be contested by student-athletes are basketball, cricket, football, hockey, lawn tennis, netball, swimming, table tennis, track and field, and volleyball. Nine of the 10 sports to be contested will be at the UWI Mona Bowl for Sporting Excellence while hockey will be played at the Mona Hockey Turf.
The Mona Bowl currently boasts The UWI/Usain Bolt Regupol Athletic Track, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
