Consolidated Bakeries, under its Miss Birdie and Purity brands, recently donated Miss Birdie and Purity Easter Buns and other products to the Ministry of Health and the workers of the Ministry of Health call centre for COVID-19.

The company said the gesture was to recognise the gallant effort and personal sacrifice each member is making in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“We are pleased to offer this donation to the Ministry of Health,” Russanette Dennis, Marketing Assistant of Consolidated Bakeries shared. “On behalf of the company, we are so very thankful for the ministry’s quick response and the daily dissemination of information.”

“This single donation personifies the brand promise of Miss Birdie to #ShareTheLove and of Purity to recognise the #RealHeroes in our everyday lives,” she continued. “It’s our way of thanking them for their efforts.”

Every Easter, Miss Birdie and Purity search for members of the public who are often overlooked but very much deserving of recognition and gift this group with a donation of Miss Birdie and Purity Easter Buns.

This year, it was quite easy to decide on this group with the recent developments of the coronavirus and the commendable ongoing response, the company said.

Consolidated Bakeries also commended the efforts of the ministry workers on the frontline and their commanders, Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Minister of Health and Wellness Dr Christopher Tufton.

The company is also encouraging Jamaicans to do their part by continuing to heed the advice of the government to practise social distancing and most importantly, stay home as much as possible.
