MILO donates table tennis boards to prep and primary schools
Table tennis in schools received a significant boost last week Wednesday when MILO donated 10 table tennis boards to prep and primary schools.
MILO made the donations at the offices of the Sports Development Foundation'n Kingston.
The schools that benefited from the donations were Fellowship Primary, Friendship Primary, Jack's Hill Primary, Jessie Repoll Primary, Maxfield Primary, North Street Primary, Pembroke Hall Primary, Portmore Missionary Prep, St. Mary's All Age and Trelawny Primary.
According to Ockino Petrie - Consumer Marketing Manager at Nestle Jamaica. with responsibility for MILO, "today we are pleased to offer as a complement to our sponsorship, 10 table tennis butterfly boards, which will be distributed to schools that are in dire need of a programme. This is at a cost of $600,000."
Petrie also said MILO was pleased with the growth of the sport since last year when it began sponsoring the prep and primary school tennis competition.
Godfrey Lothian, president of Table Tennis Jamaica was very pleased with MILO's donations of the table tennis boards.
He said Table Tennis Jamaica was on a path to qualify for the 2020 Olympics.
