Midday Christmas attack in May Pen leaves car wash operator dead

A car wash operator was shot dead in an attack in May Pen, Clarendon on Christmas Day.

The deceased is 36-year-old Miruts Milton, otherwise called ‘Ghetto’, of Harris Street in May Pen, close to the street on which he was killed by yet unknown attackers.

The shooting took place on Howard Avenue in the town shortly after midday.

Reports were that residents heard explosions in the area and summoned the police.

Upon their arrival, the police found Milton lying face down in blood, with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

He was later pronounced dead.

The May Pen police are investigating the development.

The incident represents a continuation of the wide-scale bloodletting in Clarendon this year, that has seen the parish again numbered among the most murderous police divisions locally, with the parish capital, May Pen, again figuring very prominently in the mix.
