Medical Disposables up 16% to lead gains
Medical Disposables & Supplies Limited (MDS) led gains in Friday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
MDS gained 16.03 per cent to close at $5.50, followed by Paramount Trading (Jamaica) Limited (PTL), up 14.29 per cent to close at $3.20.
The day’s top loser was Eppley Limited (EPLY), down 8.33 per cent to close at $11.00.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 7,261.66 points (2.51 per cent) to close at 296,151.90. The JSE Index advanced by 7,315.27 points (2.62 per cent) to close at 286,080.89. The Junior Market Index advanced by 48.58 points (1.63 per cent) to close at 3,034.13. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.29 points (1.24 per cent) to close at 183.01.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 47 stocks of which 24 advanced, 12 declined and 11 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 6,675,432 units valued at over $86,684,014.34. Sagicor Real Estate X Fund Ltd. was the volume leader with 3,630,842 units (54.39 per cent) followed by EXPRESS CATERING LIMITED with 433,774 units (6.50 per cent) and JMMB Group Limited 7.50 per cent with 417,882 units (6.26 per cent).
