Margaritaville up 25% to lead JSE gains
Margaritaville Turks led gains on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) on Monday.
The stock rocketed 25 per cent to close at US$0.25. It was followed by Supreme Ventures, up 6.2 per cent to close at $11.10. Ciboney group declined 12 per cent to close at $0.30 and Kingston Wharves went down 6.5 per cent to $30.67.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 2,872.72 points ( 0.99 per cent) to close at 287,721.35. The JSE Index declined by 3,452.09 points (1.22 per cent) to close at 280,564.20.
The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 3,788.87 points ( 1.22 per cent) to close at 307,935.64. The JSE Select Index declined by 88.87 points ( 1.07 per cent) to close at 8,225.16.
The Junior Market Index advanced by 28.59 points (1.06 per cent) to close at 2,726.11. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 2.51 points ( 1.49 per cent) to close at 171.26.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 49 stocks of which 17 advanced, 21 declined and 11 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 10,437,917 units valued at over $167,999,074.53. Jamaica Producers Group Ltd. was the volume leader with 2,009,809 units followed by GWEST with 1,223,571 units and Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited with 1,198,425 units .
