Manchester farmer allegedly found with gun in St Ann
A Manchester farmer who was arrested in connection with the seizure of a handgun and several rounds of ammunition in Mount Moriah district in the parish on Saturday, March 28, has been slapped with criminal charges less than 24 hours after being taken into custody.
Reports from the Cave Valley police are that about 11 pm, a police team from the St Ann division was conducting an operation at a bar in the area when a man was seen acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion.
He was approached and searched and a 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing thirteen 9mm rounds of ammunition was reportedly found in his waistband.
The accused is 28-year-old Nadar Campbell of Christiana, Manchester.
He was arrested and subsequently charged with illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition in relation to the seizure.
A date for his appearance in court is being finalised by the police.
