‘Man of unsound mind’ shot by the police in Manchester

A man who is said to be of unsound mind was reportedly shot and injured by a police officer in the Cross Keys area of Manchester on Saturday.

Full details of the incident are still not available, and checks with police in the area have revealed very little.

Sources from the community told Loop News that at about 8:00 a.m., the man was shot during a reported tussle with local authorities in the area.

Another source said members of a police team tried to apprehend the man after he reportedly attacked a nurse.

Several attempts have since been made by Loop News to get information on the incident from the Cross Keys police, but officers there have declined to speak on the matter.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is expected to probe the incident.

Loop News will continue to follow the story.
