Man suspected of taking own life in Clarendon

A man is suspected to have died by suicide in Rock River, Clarendon over the weekend.

"The body was found about 7.10 am in the community on Saturday, January 25th hanging from a tree with a cord wrapped around his neck. We don't know the circumstances that led to his suicide," a representative of the Corporate Communication Unit told Loop News.

A mental health/suicide helpline has been established by the Ministry of Health, in partnership with the non-governmental organisation (NGO), Choose Life International (CLI), to provide support to persons in need of assistance.

The helpline, 1-888-NEW-LIFE (1-888-639-5433), is toll-free and provides 24-hour assistance to persons with mental health issues seeking help.
