Man sentenced to 27 years for illegal firearm, wounding with intent

Rayon Thomas, who pleaded guilty to illegal possession of firearm and three counts of wounding with intent, has been hit with an effective 27-year prison term.

The sentence was handed down by Justice Shelly Williams in the Corporate Area Gun Court last Wednesday.

Charged by Detective Sergeant Lance Jackson, Thomas, who pleaded guilty on February 27, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for illegal possession of firearm.

Justice Williams also handed down 20-year sentences for each count of wounding with intent. The sentences are to run concurrently.
