Man reportedly held with gun in fast-food box in St James

The St James police have arrested and charged a man in connection with the seizure of a handgun which was found hidden in a fast-food box on Humber Avenue on Saturday, November 14.

Charged with illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition is 30-year-old Damar Morris of Rose Heights, St James.

Reports are that about 8:40 pm, a police team was on mobile patrol along Humber Avenue when they observed Morris, who was along the roadway.

Morris was reportedly acting in a manner that aroused the cops’ suspicion, and they accosted him and searched him.

A homemade handgun with one 9mm round of ammunition was reportedly found in a fast-food box that he was carrying, and he was arrested and later charged.

His court date is being finalised by the police.
