Man killed, four others injured in gun attack in Stony Hill Square

The police are probing the shooting death of a man and the injuring of four persons in Stony Hill, St Andrew on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Shamari Waul of a St Andrew address.

Reports are that about 6.30 am, two armed men approached a group of persons in normally quiet Stony Hill Square, and opened fire at them, before fleeing the area.

When the shooting subsided, Waul and four others were found with gunshot wounds.

They were taken to a hospital, where Waul was pronounced dead.

Two of the injured persons were treated and released, while the others remain admitted.

The St Andrew North police are investigating the shooting incident.
