Man held in fatal stabbing of Marcus Garvey High student

The Trelawny police have taken one man into custody in connection with the fatal stabbing of a male  student at a wake in the parish early Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Marcus Garvey High student, Raheem Allen of Calabar, Rio Bueno, Trelawny.

Reports are that about 1:30 am, Allen was among among persons at a shop in his community where a wake was  in progress when a dispute developed between him and a group of men.

It is alleged that a member of the group brandished a long knife which he used to inflict multiple stab wounds to the upper body of Allen.

Allen was taken to the Falmouth Hospital where he died upon arrival.

The suspected attacker has since been taken into custody.
