Man dead, woman injured after attempted murder-suicide in Kingston

A man is dead and his female partner in serious condition after an attempted murder-suicide in Kingston on Thursday morning, a day after a correctional officer shot and killed his estranged wife before committing suicide in another section of the Corporate Area.

The deceased has been identified only as “Suddy”, a labourer of McIntosh Drive in Kingston 3.

Police report that Suddy allegedly hit his common law wife in the head with a stone, knocking her unconscious.  Thinking that the woman was dead, he reportedly then used a piece of rope to hang himself.

The police were summoned and, upon their arrival, the officers discovered that the female was still breathing. She was rushed to hospital, where she was treated and admitted in serious condition.

On Wednesday, a woman was gunned down by her estranged husband along Waltham Park Road in St Andrew. After killing the woman in front of the couple's 12-year-old daughter, the man fatally shot himself.
