Man charged with murder involving chopping elderly father

The Manchester police have charged a man who reportedly chopped his elderly father to death during a dispute in George’s Valley in the parish on Monday.

The accused, 29-year-old Jayon Leon, alias ‘Jay’, who is charged with the murder of 75-year-old Roy Leon, is to appear in court at a later date.

The police reported that on December 30 last year, the senior citizen was at home with his wife, when the enraged younger Leon entered and an argument developed.

Young Leon then dragged his mother from the house and reportedly re-entered the building, where he is believed to have chopped his father several times. The senior citizen's head was partially severed in the process.

Residents later made the gruesome discovery and alerted the police.

Jayon Leon was subsequently apprehended and charged by the police.
