Man charged in crash that killed 2-year-old daughter

A man was charged with causing the death of his two-year-old daughter by dangerous driving that resulted from a motor vehicle crash along Windsor main road in the parish on Tuesday night, May 9.
The man, 24-year-old Omeal Riley, of Steer Town, St Ann was charged with causing death by dangerous driving on Friday, June 9.
His baby daughter, Omealia Riley died as a result of injuries she received from the crash.
The father was offered station bail and is to appear before the St Ann Parish Court on July 6.
Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay police are that about 10:40 p.m., young Omealia was travelling with her parents along Windsor road in a Toyota Tercel motorcar.
When the car reached the intersection of the AGR Byfield Highway and the Windsor main road, the driver of the car, Omealia’s father, Omeal allegedly lost control of the vehicle and collided into a Toyota Wish motorcar.
Omealia sustained multiple injuries and was taken to hospital where she later died while being treated.
Her parents were admitted at the time in hospital.
The driver of the Toyota Wish was treated and released.
