Man charged for allegedly robbing visitors at gunpoint in St Ann

A man who is suspected of robbing visitors in Mammee Bay, St Ann last December, has been charged by police investigators in the parish.

The accused, 26-year-old Oshane Swaby, a labourer of Green Bay in Steer Town, St Ann, has been slapped with charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, along with robbery with aggravation.

Reports are that on December 17 at about 3pm, the complainants were touring sections of the parish when they were robbed of their belongings, including cell phones, watches and other items, at gunpoint.

Following a probe, Swaby was arrested and later charged after he was pointed out on an identification parade.

His court date is being finalised, said the police.
