Man accused of stabbing former lover to death, charged with murder
The man who is alleged to have killed his former lover in Brampton, St Elizabeth last Thursday, has been charged by police investigators.
Slapped with a murder charge is 52-year-old Derron Salmon, an electrician and farmer of Brampton Lane in the parish.
Reports are that about 8.20 am last Thursday, an argument developed between Salmon and 49-year-old Hilreth Stephenson, a domestic helper of Top Hill district in the parish, at Stephenson’s workplace, where Salmon went.
During the dispute, Salmon is reported to have used a knife to stab Stephenson several times before fleeing the scene.
She later died at hospital.
The accused turned himself over to the police last Friday, and was officially charged with murder on Monday after being questioned in the presence of his attorney.
A date for his appearance in court is being finalised, the police said.
