Main Event gained 15% during Thursday’s trading
Main Event Entertainment led double-digit gains during Thursday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
The stock gained 15.6 per cent to close at $3.49. It was followed by Everything Fresh up 7.6 per cent to close at $0.71.
Sygnus Credit led declines down 14 per cent to close at US$0.14.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 2,427.14 points (0.63 per cent) to close at 383,613.56; the JSE Main Index declined by 2,536.99 points (0.65 per cent) to close at 387,308.51 and the Junior Market Index declined by 8.55 points (0.34 per cent) to close at 2,533.26.
Additionally, the JSE USD Equities Index declined by 0.99 points (0.51 per cent) to close at 194.57. The JSE Financial Index declined by 0.60 points (0.58 per cent) to close at 102.63.
The JSE Manufacturing & Distribution Index declined by 0.22 points (0.28 per cent) to close at 77.36.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 75 stocks of which 29 advanced, 30 declined and 16 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 13 million units valued at over $376.5 million. NCB Financial Group was the volume leader with 2,216,586 units (16.93 per cent) followed by Sagicor Select Funds Financial with 1,909,982 units (14.59 per cent) and TransJamaican Highway with 1,568,911 units (11.99 per cent).
