Lunar Rocket proves a cut above rivals over 1200m

Speedy LUNAR ROCKET on Saturday posted a fast 1:12.1 for 1200 metres, winning the 10th event at Caymanas Park with lightweight jockey Oneil Mullings.

Returning off a five-month lay-up, 9-5 favourite LUNAR ROCKET easily beat four-year-olds and upwards, non-winners of three races, finishing clear of 7-2 chance MISTER BONES and 13-1 outsider AUNTIE RHONDA.

The 5-2 hot WARTIME with champion jockey Omar Walker finished sixth.

Non-claiming apprentice Bebeto Harvey won two races on the 11-race card. His first winner was K D FLYER at odds of 14-1 in the fourth race for three-year-old maidens at 1000-metre straight.

Harvey closed the card with 5-2 chance GANJA MAN at 1100 metres.

Racing continues with back-to-back holiday weekend meetings - Saturday, July 29 and Emancipation Day, Tuesday, August 1; followed by Saturday, August 5 and Independence Day, Monday, August 7.
