Loop News last week handed over $50,000 to the Jamaica Cancer Society, the proceeds from its sale of bonnets during October, which is recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The team at Loop Jamaica partnered with budding local business owner Keneisha Robb of Satin Bonnets Jamaica to produce 50 limited edition breast cancer-themed bonnets dedicated to observing the cause.

Available for $1,000, within two hours of an internal sale, all 50 bonnets were sold out with a gross total of $50,000 for donation to the Jamaica Cancer Society to continue the fight for a breakthrough cure.

To culminate Pink-tober last Thursday, the Loop team handed over the cheque to the JCS and promised its continued support in the fight.

“The Jamaica Cancer Society is truly grateful to Loop. We do know that there are many other societies in desperate need that require urgent attention so it means a lot to us for this donation. There are many women who will certainly benefit through small grants from the JCS through this donation,” stated Shullian Brown, Public Relations Officer of the Jamaica Cancer Society.
