Lasco Affiliated Companies has donated just over $1.7 million personal care and food items to communities to assist with relief amid an outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The donation, made through the Ministry of Health and Wellness, saw families receiving a variety of essential products including Lasco Food Drink; Lasco Enriched Milk Powder; Lasco iCool Water and iCool Juice Drink; Lasco Mackerel and LASURE Antibacterial soap among other Lasco branded personal care items.
Building on its’ 30-year commitment to Jamaicans to not only provide affordable, quality products that support a healthy, wellness-oriented lifestyle, Lasco has challenged Jamaicans to be of service to their fellow countrymen.
According to Founder and Executive Chairman of Lasco Affiliated Companies, Lascelles Chin: “In this unprecedented time in our history, it is vital that each of us remember our responsibility to be good caretakers of not just our immediate families, but for our communities and the wider society. Lasco has always honoured our calling to be of service to our fellowmen. It was incumbent on us to show our compassion during this critical time.”
Lasco said this ethos of ‘caring for one’s brothers’ will continue through partnerships with civil servant bodies for nurses, police officers and teachers.
“We take the support of our civil servants very seriously. The global impact of our current health crisis is a reminder of the great sacrifice of the civil servants for our nation. Lasco through our Affiliated Companies and the Lasco Chin Foundation invests annually to support them each year," Chin said.
