A 31-year-old man has walked away from a crash that left his supercar wedged underneath a trailer.

The incident happened in Costa Mesa, California in the early hours of 3 February.

Police “arrived to find a green Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera stuck underneath a modular construction trailer”, Costa Mesa Police Department said in a statement released on Monday.

Images released by the department showed the vehicle, which sells for around $200,000, fully stuck under the structure.

Police said the driver, Cesar Castro Rodriguez, suffered no major injuries. They found him looking for his passenger.

Fire and rescue personnel then had to negotiate downed power lines and an unstable trailer to get into the vehicle to look for the passenger, but he wasn’t there. The 25-year-old male was later found at home with minor injuries, having left the scene of the accident.

Rodriguez was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, the police statement said.
