Dancehall artiste Konshens and friends gathered at The Haven on Hillcrest in St Andrew last Saturday to celebrate the life of his late brother, Delmark ‘Delus’ Spence.

The memorial, acted as both a celebration of the late deejay’s life and also as a launch of a charity foundation in his honour.

Delus took his own life last year; the foundation, ‘Delus Lived’ will be focused on providing help to persons suffering from depression and anxiety.

At the launch, there was an open discussion on mental illness, led by President of the Jamaican Psychological Society , Dr Kai Morgan and Angelique Cohen of ‘Angelique’s Project’ which is an initiative aimed at getting persons to feel comfortable to speak about their issues.

Konshens said he has big plans for the foundation and is looking forward to collaborating with local psychologists to help shatter the stigma attached to mental illness- especially within the music industry.
