Kiwanis Club of New Kingston hosts 19th annual Charity Golf Tournament
The Kiwanis Club of New Kingston (KCNK) will be hosting its 19th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Sunday, July 28 at the Constant Spring Golf and Country Club under the theme “Tee Off with KCNK: Empowering Children with Special Needs through Music”.
Proceeds from the event will go towards refurbishing the music room at the Randolph Lopez School Of Hope.
Kiwanis Club of New Kingston President, Dianne O’Brien-Harris, was proud that the Kiwanians were continuing to play their part in nation building through charity events.
“The tournament is a part of our annual fundraising activities for various charitable initiatives. As an organization, we seek to positively impact the lives of many children, especially in the areas of health and education,” she said.
The beneficiaries of this year’s staging of the tournament, Randolph Lopez School of Hope is the largest and oldest school serving children with intellectual disabilities in Jamaica and the English speaking Caribbean. The school was pioneered by Mr Randolph Lopez who founded the Jamaican Association for Mentally Handicapped Children in 1955.
