Kingston Properties, up 10%, led stock gains Friday
Kingston Properties led gains in an otherwise loss-filled day in Friday's trading session of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
Kingston Properties gained 10.5 per cent to close at $8.84, and was the only stock to make double-digit gains. CAC 2000 led declines, down 17.88 per cent to close at $6.57. Pulse dropped 17 per cent to close at $3.11, and Berger Paints fell 10.6 per cent to close at $14.97.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 5,104.84 points (2.03 per cent) to close at 246,280.81. The JSE Index declined by 4,744.29 points ( 2.01 per cent) to close at 231,638.15. The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 5,207.13 points ( 2.01 per cent) to close at 254,236.40. The Junior Market Index declined by 68.54 points (2.19 per cent) to close at 3,064.46.
The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 2.61 points (1.51 per cent) to close at 175.65.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 47 stocks of which 11 advanced, 31 declined and five traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 5,744,785 units valued at over $87,347,529.28. Proven Investments Limited JMD was the volume leader with 1,387,365 units (24.15 per cent).
