Khadija Shaw signs two-year contract with French club

Outstanding Jamaican striker, Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw has signed a two-year contract with Football Club des Girondinis de Bordeaux, a French professional club based in the city of Bordeaux. The club currently plays in Ligue 1, the first division of French football.
The signing took place on Thursday at the team hotel in France.
Shaw is among a 23-member Reggae Girlz squad who are in France for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, which kicks off on Friday.
Reggae Girlz head coach Hue Menzies was full of joy as he witnessed the signing.
" I am so happy for Khadija on her signing with Bordeaux. She has completed a degree in Communications, her national team is in the World Cup and now she has signed to be a professional footballer,'' said the USA-based Menzies.
"What a year for this young lady, who with great sacrifice and commitment has gone far in achieving her dreams, such an impactful accomplishment for all young people in Jamaica," Menzies further said.
The 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup will run from June 7 to July 7 and will be the eighth edition.
Jamaica's Reggae Girlz will open their debut campaign on June 9 against a tough Brazillian side, which is ranked number 10 in the world, at the Stade des Alpes in Grenoble.
Things will not get any easier for the 53rd ranked Girlz when they face the Italians, ranked at number 15 at the Stade Auguste-Delaune in Reims on June 14, before wrapping up their first round Group C fixtures against Australia, which is ranked number six in the world, once again at the Stade des Alpes in Grenoble, on June 18.
