Key Insurance led gains during Monday’s trading
Key Insurance Company Limited (KEY) led gains on Monday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE). KEY gained 12.22 per cent to close at $4.50, followed by Barita Investments Limited (BIL), up 5.32 per cent to close at $29.49.
The day’s largest declining stock was the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE), down 7.83 per cent to close at $9.07.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 1,958.31 points (0.50 per cent) to close at 397,201.60. The JSE Index advanced by 2,193.21 points (0.56 per cent) to close at 394,395.44. The Junior Market Index declined by 5.10 points (0.16 per cent) to close at 3,177.23. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 0.87 points (0.52 per cent) to close at 168.55.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 47 stocks of which 23 advanced, 16 declined and 8 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 10,488,856 units valued at over $45,920,577.29. SSL Venture Capital Limited was the volume leader with 6,000,000 units (57.20 per cent) followed by Derrimon Trading Company Limited Pref. Shares with 2,270,174 units (21.64 per cent) and Key Insurance Company Limited with 1,071,023 units (10.21 per cent).
