Kendel Foods has renewed its sponsorship of reigning Digicel Manning Cup champions Kingston College (KC).

The company on Thursday donated products valued at $500,000 during a presentation ceremony at the school's North Street campus.

Keisha Stewart, senior brand manager of Kendel Foods, said the company will provide KC with its products throughout their Manning Cup campaign.

Stewart said, "schoolboy football is one of the events that Jamaicans look forward to each year and we see it as a great opportunity for us to reach the communities, educate them on the nourishment and value of Kendel foods and our other brands.

"The sponsorship was rewarded last year with KC winning the title and we are hoping that it will this year, but no matter what, we are committed to KC."

On Thursday, gear, foods, and medications were among the many things that were donated with members of the team getting advice from Kendel Foods' brand ambassador former national player  Ricardo 'Bibi' Gardner.

KC's coach Ludlow Bernard said, "nutrition is very important in any athletic programme and we very much appreciate and cherish this gesture that has offered to us.

"I am sure it will go a far way in satisfying the nutritional needs of some of our players, who from time to time have challenges where that is concerned."

KC won the Manning Cup title for the first time in 32 years last season.

The school got its 2019 campaign off to a dream start by defeating former champions Excelsior 4-0 on the opening day of the season last Saturday.

KC will next be in action on Saturday, September 14 at Pembroke Hall High.
