Kamala McWhinney juggles matrimonial business with psychology career

Kamala McWhinney, the CEO of White Lotus Bridal Boutique & Design House and Isle & Lyric Body Collection has stepped into the bridal attire arena but it is not just about sales and earnings for her.

The clinical psychologist sees her entrepreneurial ventures as part of her greater purpose, to empower women.

Her aim is to further build her bridal boutique business, employing women from vulnerable communities.

It’s certainly not a pipe dream.

Growing in confidence and business acumen, she recently started a line of luxury body care products which are distinctly Jamaican and dubbed Isle & Lyric.

This new line has won favour with a couple of local hotels.

Anything is possible for the Spanish Town-bred entrepreneur who beat breast cancer to continue building the business she started with her cousin Shavon Kelly.
