A Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus got stuck along West Kings House Road in St Andrew on Tuesday morning, forcing passengers to abandon the vehicle.

According to the bus driver, the vehicle was travelling along West Kings House Road towards Constant Spring Road at around 8:30 am when the rear wheels sank in an area of the road that had been covered with marl Sunday by members of a public agency which had been conducting repairs to the roadway.

The driver said the passengers were forced to abandon the bus and were allowed to take another JUTC bus at no extra cost to get to their respective destinations.

The bus spent over one hour at the spot and the driver was forced to call a JUTC wrecker crew, which was still at the scene attempting to lift the vehicle out of the hole when Loop News left at around 10 am.
