The Marine Police are now carrying out checks at the Kingston Harbour, following reports that a boat close to the shore sunk on Friday afternoon.

About 3:30 p.m., persons hanging out at the harbour and others from some sections of high-rise buildings in the area saw a group of fishermen trying to pull in the boat, which was still visible, but slowly going underwater, with the use of other smaller vessels.

The fishermen eventually succeeded in hauling the eventually sunken vessel ashore.

The Marine Police, when contacted by Loop News, said they had received reports about the development, and were making checks about the matter.

Persons who reported the matter and were close to the action said they were not sure if anyone was hurt in the incident.

An update is expected from the Marine Police.
