Junior Market companies led gains during Monday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
Medical Disposables gained 40 per cent to close at $8.00 but with only 100 units trading. It was followed by Honey Bun up 11.4 per cent to close at $5.96.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 677.91 points ( 0.13 per cent) to close at 511,079.46.
The JSE Index advanced by 377.32 points ( 0.07 per cent) to close at 514,559.87. The Junior Market Index advanced by 30.36 points ( 0.88 per cent) to close at 3,491.24. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 3.74 points ( 1.96 per cent) to close at 194.45. The JSE Financial Index advanced by 0.37 points ( 0.27 per cent) to close at 140.60.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 61 stocks of which 25 advanced, 29 declined and 7 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 87,852,893 units valued at over $139,071,213.50. Wigton Windfarm was the volume leader with 79,968,581 units (91.03per cent) followed by Sagicor Select with 4,631,465 units (5.27 per cent) and Stationery and Office Supplies with 355,751 units (0.40 per cent) .
