Judge hangs tough on bail request in Jamaican-Canadian murder case Loop News Created : 13 March 2018 Jamaica News Melbourne and Etta Flake Any hopes of getting bail then were dashed when a St Thomas couple’s murder and robbery cases again came up for mention in the St Thomas Parish Court on Monday. Fabian Skervin and Nekkia Thompson, who are from Soho in the parish, were further remanded in custody to return to court on April 12. They are charged with the murder and robbery of Jamaican-Canadian couple, Melbourne and Etta Flake, 81 and 70 years, respectively, in Retreat district in the parish in January. Presiding Judge, Luciana Jackson, ruled that a DNA analysis must be completed before bail can be considered for the accused persons. This was despite a suggestion from Thompson's attorney, Hensley Williams, that there was no evidence linking his client to the murder of the Flakes. The now deceased couple was found dead at their vacation home on January 9. Police investigations led to Skervin and Thompson being each charged with two counts of murder and robbery with aggravation.
