JSE gains nearly twice as much as declines last week
Everything Fresh, Blue Power Group, Mayberry Jamaica Equities (MJE) and Honey Bun led with double digit gains in last week's trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
Everything Fresh gained 15.3 per cent to close at $2.29 and Blue Power gained 14.9 per cent to close at $47. They were followed by MJE, which gained 12.45 per cent to close at $9.48 and Honey Bun which gained 12 per cent to close at $4.43 .
Paramount led declines, down 30 per cent to close at $2.10; followed by Sygnus, which declined 22.3 per cent to close at $10.09. Berger Paints dipped 16.5 per ecnt to close at $18.02, Portland JSX declined 12.4 per cent to close at $8.01 and Stationery and Office Supplies declined 10.4 per cent to close at $8.15.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 500.22 points (0.15 per cent) to close at 325,301.74.
The JSE Index declined by 160.75 points ( 0.05 per cent) to close at 315,996.35. The Junior Market Index advanced by 58.84 points ( 1.85 per cent) to close at 3,185.44. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 0.40 points ( 0.25 per cent) to close at 159.24.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 98 stocks of which 40 advanced, 23 declined and 35 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 70,235,136 units valued at over $759,481,286.11. Indies Pharma was the volume leader with 23,235,244 units (33.08 per cent) followed by JMMB Group Limited 7.50per cent with 8,940,090 units (12.73 per cent) and MJE with 5,621,573 units (8.0 per cent).
