JPS Morant Bay office temporarily closed after positive COVID result
The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) customer service office in Morant Bay, St Thomas will be closed on Monday, August 24, following the positive COVID-19 test result for an employee at the location.
In a release, the company said although the affected employee has been working from home since August 7, out of an abundance of caution, the company decided to temporarily close the office for deep cleaning and sanitisation.
Contact tracing is also being done, and the company said all its team members who have been in close contact with the affected employee are being quarantined and tested in line with the Ministry of Health and Wellness protocols.
The power company said it is the second confirmed COVID case among its personnel. An employee at the company’s Spanish Town Road office in the Corporate Area tested positive just over a week ago.
The company said it is continuing its ongoing programme of sanitisation at all its offices, and is encouraging customers to continue using its online channels and 24-hour customer care centre:
